Freshly-salted cucumbers are so easy to make, and most importantly, it doesn’t take a lot of time. In this article I will provide you with a detailed recipe I have used for many years.
What you need to prepare pickled cucumbers
All the proportions in a recipe designed for 500-600 g of cucumbers. In addition, you will need:
- Garlic - 4 large cloves;
- Dill (preferably with some seeds) - 1 bunch;
- Salt - 1 tbsp.;
- Sugar - 1 tsp.;
- Basil - a few leaves. This is an optional item, but basil will add spice to your cucumbers.

Pickled cucumbers recipe
Rinse the cucumbers well with cold water, give them a little dry and cut off their tails on both sides, after that cut cucumbers lengthwise into two or four parts, depending on the size. This will help them absorb salt and herbs.
For the preparation of pickled cucumbers, we will use a regular disposable plastic bag. If you have very thin bags, just use two at once - insert one into the other.

Place the cucumbers into the plastic bag and put minced garlic on top. Add salt, sugar, and tear dill and basil into the bag.
Close the bag and mix it very well using your hands. This is very important - it affects how evenly the cucumbers will get salted.
Close the plastic bag and leave for 15-20 minutes at room temperature. After that put the bag with cucumbers into the fridge for 1 hour and they will be ready.
